Emily & Maya

Our photo session with Emily and Maya was done in record time. As rain was waiting to make its entrance and the sun was on its way down, we were on a serious time crunch. I told the girls that we had just a few minutes, and they really delivered! The chemistry between the two sisters didn’t need any direction. We walked up to a familiar park near their house, my sister/assistant made a game out of the whole process and we were done before we knew it. Emily and Maya were truly amazing and unbelievably comfortable in front of the camera. I think they enjoyed the process just as much as I did. We made it before the rain and just in time to order their Christmas cards. I designed a card featuring a collage of some of my favorite shots of the session. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and have a happy and healthy 2011. Thanks for stopping by…enjoy!

Christian's 1st Birthday

I arrived at Christian's first birthday party an hour before his guests and was excited to get some shots while he got ready and his loved ones helped get the fun details in order. I had a great time capturing his excitement over the arrival of his guests, the colorful details and the many activities available to him and his friends. When it was time to blow out his candles, Christian's parents were cool enough to allow him to experiment and nearly dive into his cake. Being able to capture this adorable (and messy) memory for him and his parents almost made me as excited as he was. Being a part of Christian's big day truly was a pleasure. Catching up with Natalie

Four months ago, Natalie was one of the first babies I had the pleasure to work with. It was interesting to see how much she had grown since our last session when I visited her again for her first Christmas pictures. She is still unbearably adorable and a joy to work with. Since Natalie was much more active this time around, the session had a lot more energy. We also got lucky with a surprisingly sunny day in December. It is an honor to think that Natalie and the babies I have worked with will be able to look back on these photos when they are older. Our photo shoot with Natalie confirmed that she really is a natural! However, she still detested the outfit changes. I guess some things never change! Here are my favorites from our shoot. Thanks for stopping by...enjoy!

Karen, Freddie, and Kayla

After the rain threatened to ruin their first family shoot, Freddie, Karen and Kayla still decided to meet with me in the painfully cold weather. Despite an interrupted nap and a rushed meal, two year old Kayla was ecstatic to spend time with her parents, who she obviously adores. Once we began shooting, I almost felt like they had forgotten I was there. At times, I was hesitant to ruin all of the fun they were having with my directions. For the first time (ever) my sister/assistant/trusty children's entertainer had nothing to say either. We all had so much fun. I'm so glad I got to capture this time they spent together, thirty minutes before it began to rain. Thanks for stopping by...enjoy!

Dante

Considering we wrapped him in Christmas lights, gave him exciting ornaments (only to take them away) and had him wear a hat fit for snow on a sunny day, Dante was a trooper. I thought having him lay on an array of peppermint was pushing it, but he and his mom were up for the idea! Although our visit must have been a change of pace for him, Dante managed to look extremely adorable and stylish to the very end. My first family shoot was exciting, especially with a family that has an eye and appreciation for creativity. Here are some of the highlights from our session. Thanks for stopping by...enjoy!
